Monitoring Potential Geological Hazards with Different InSAR Algorithms: The Case of Western Sichuan

In recent years, the number of geological disasters in Sichuan Province has significantly increased due to influence earthquakes and extreme climate, as well disturbance environment by human activities. Thus, disaster monitoring is particularly important, which can provide some scientific basis for prevention reduction. this paper, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) technology was introduced monitor potential hazards, taking parts Dujiangyan City, Wenchuan County, Mao County Province, China examples. Firstly, data such Sentinel-1A Terrain Observation with Progressive Scans (TOPS) Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images Precision Orbit Determination (POD) precise orbit ephemerides from 2018 2020, high-resolution optical satellite Digital Elevation Model (DEM) were collected. Secondly, Differential InSAR (D-InSAR), Persistent Scatterer (PS-InSAR), Small Baseline Subset (SBAS-InSAR), Offset-Tracking, Distributed (DS-InSAR) algorithms used invert surface deformation study area. Thirdly, according results obtained experiments, we GF-1 GF-2 a reference combine experimental delineate areas affected disasters. A total 49 obtained, mainly including landslides, collapses, debris flow. Through field verification, overall accuracy rate achieved 69.23%, new hazards reached 63.64%. Among all methods, DS-InSAR method outperformed monitored well. Finally, area divided into three elevation intervals applicability different discussed.
